The phone isn't the first to offer one, and according to a new report from ABI Research, it won't be the last. In fact, by 2021 ABI says that 300 million smartphones will be shipped carrying an iris scanner. The advantages over the ubiquitous fingerprint scanner include the ability to unlock the phone, or verify a mobile payment ID without touching the device... Bogged down for so long, we might finally have a worthwhile competitor, as the $50 on-contract Pantech Flex aims to flaunt its muscles with its sharp industrial design and contemporary hardware specs... The Huawei Mate 10 Lite has launched today in Germany, priced at €399. Based on current currency rates, that works out to $463 USD. The Mate 10 Lite carries a 5.9-inch LCD display, with a resolution of 1080 x 2160. The aspect ratio works out to 18:9. Under the hood is the Kirin 659 chipset, carrying an octa-core 2.36GHz CPU and the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. Both the back and the front of this handset feature dual-camera setups... The LG Escape is breaking out toward AT&T featuring a 4.3 inch, qHD screen.
Who would have ever thought we'd come to the day when a 4.3 inch screen was the sign of a mid-range device. Under the hood is a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and the camera on back is a 5MP shooter. Up front is a 1.3MP camera.
NFC is supported and there is a 2150mAh battery that keeps the lights on. Despite the mid-range specs, the LG Escape has the latest version of the Optimus UI running on top of Android 4.0. See the page for all specs.
